A happy Christmas to all our members and supporters. What a strange year but we have managed to keep on singing and it has been lovely to see each other’s faces most weeks. Thank you to everyone who made this happen.
The virtual Christmas concert has given us the opportunity to strengthen our ties with other local choirs and raise money for a Bishops Stortford charity.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that we will be able to sing together in person in 2021. Hopefully we will have a big party on our return.
In the meantime, stay safe and see you all in 2021!
Amanda

Despite our best efforts to keep the tour on the calendar with a new date in 2021, we have finally had to admit that the double whammy of Covid and Brexit means it isn't going to happen.
We really, really hope to be able to put this on in 2022.
Meanwhile you may want to put a reminder in your diary for the weekend of 26th-29th March 2021 to Drink Guinness, Sing Songs and Have Fun.
Maybe we can organise some sort of e-tour...
Anyone feeling creative? |

The first rehearsal next term is going to be Saturday the 16th Jan.
Our current assumption is that we will have to do another complete term with remote rehearsals as the rollout of the vaccine battles against post-Christmas rises in R rates. We'll keep you informed of any changes to that plan.
Repertoire for the Spring term is still being finalised but it is likely to be a mix of old and new, particularly from our standard books:
Encores for Choirs 2
Madrigals and Partsongs
Moses Hogan "Feel The Spirit" books 1 and 2.
James welcomes your suggestions for pieces to work on in 2021, including in particular from the Moses Hogan books. He also mentioned that the feedback on what you liked and what went less well for you was really useful in shaping the sessions, so any more input would be gratefully received. |
