News From Amici Cantate
It was great to see so many of you at the picnic. Our members arrived with plenty of picnic hampers in tow, fond memories of their summer break to share and enthusiasm for the coming term of singing. Do let us know if you would like to hold this event once a term?
Sign up to become a member of Amici today, we’d love to welcome new singers to our next social!
Next up is the mini concert at Standon, if you would like to attend but have not committed yet let us know your attendance as it looks to be a lovely, relaxed affair, do bring your friends along. It is a free concert with a retiring collection for charity.
We are still collating ideas, but as you can see with our upcoming events, “You Say, We Listen” we will share more information over the coming weeks.
Our first Meet Our Members: Quick Fire Q&A post on Instagram was made by yes … you guessed me! We would love to post your thoughts so please do bring back your completed questionnaires.
We are making great progress on “A Season to Sing” as was demonstrated at the Choir Festival. As James shared, Joanna L’Estrange will be in the audience for our performance so please do sell lots of tickets. Tickets sales are now live on the website.
The Fun Sing in January will be full of new music for both our members and guests, this will include singing in rounds, some generally well-known pieces and a start on our new pieces. So, if you have any friends, neighbours or family that would like a taste of what being part of Amici Cantate is, spread the word.

The Choir Festival
The Choir Festival proved to be as joyous as always. Many in the audience were impressed with the body percussion in the Summer Storm and Josie mentioned the tightness of the middle section in “Too Darn Hot” the whispered three part Hot, It’s Hot in three parts, great to get such glowing feedback.
“Let the River Run” showcased the ability that music sung together can literally raise the roof, what a sound!
